Clendenin/Bridge Archers Go to the Worlds!!!
On May 11th Bridge/Clendenin archers traveled to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the NASP Eastern Nationals at the Kentucky Expo Center. This is one of the largest competitions of its kind with 14,946 archers taking part and 200 elementary teams. The team knew that competition here would be fierce and the chances of placing almost impossible, but they still had goals they wanted to reach and came to compete. The goals they had set for themselves was to break the schools record for a team score and hit a 3000 and place in the top 25 percent of the nation. They accomplished both of the goals by scoring a 3023 as a team which put them in the top 22 percent of the nation. This is the first time any team at their school has scored a 3000 or over since the program started at Clendenin back in 2010! They are now qualified to go to Worlds which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee July 25th through the 27th. The coaches and team would like to thank Central Glass Company, State Equipment, Impact Pix and Graphics,
David and Carolyn Hall, Jill Vigliotti, Melissa Huffman, Bettie Kee, April Kearns, Gary Bledsoe, Poca Valley Bank, Gibson Family Dentistry, Ores Pharmacy, and The Country Times/Sams Auction, for their generous donations which has helped them be able to attend both of these events! If anyone would like to donate funds to help the program, you can contact the school or Coach Lori Monk @ 304-541-0796.
