Editor’s Note – April 26th, 2019
*We took an extra week off from The Country Times and from Sams Auction to travel to Orlando Florida with family and go to Disney World! We took our Motor Home and took our time driving it and stopping at campgrounds to make it easier on Danny. We had a great time with family, and we can mark this off our “Bucket List” of places to visit. We have The Mardi Gras-Louisiana, back out West, and Northwest to Washington State Parks, and many more to visit. We keep adding to our “Bucket List” because we are afraid if there’s nothing on the list we will “Kick the Bucket” …Ha, Ha, Ha! It was a good break, but as far as rest period we are more exhausted than when we left. We have other more relaxing trips planned in the future that can maybe get us rested up a bit. If you want to see some of our Disney Pics and vacation go on our personal Facebook page and especially watch the video of the fireworks… breathtaking! **Due to our vacation schedule I went down to 16-pages this issue to make it easier, but will be back up next issue with the graduation pictures of Hoover/Elk Valley Christian Schools. If you would like to place your graduate picture in the paper, see page 15 for more details. ***Clendenin has been subject to vandalism lately from newly planted flowers, stop signs torn down, windows broke, and much more. If you happen to see someone out at night or day doing this, call 911 and report it immediately. Take note of what the individual(s) looks like, what they are wearing, and which way they went. DO NOT APPROACH THEM! Our town
didn’t survive all these years on its own, the residents made it survive, so let’s keep our town safe. ****The last election Robert Evans challenged a lot of voter’s rights to vote-I was told and caused many not to vote because they had to go to the courthouse in Charleston to show their eligibility or to fill out papers that was time consuming Most was elderly who didn’t have the means or able to travel to Charleston. In my speculation/opinion it was to deter voters from voting, especially the ones that would’ve voted for the one he was opposing. Please don’t allow this to happen again this election. If you get challenged to vote, please contact me personally (304-5469088) and I’ll help get it resolved for you. They HAVE to let you vote regardless and sort out the technicalities later. So…go vote as normal and make YOUR voice heard.
Until the next issue…Keep Smiling!
