Editor’s Note – January 10th, 2020

Hello Readers,

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year! The Sams household was blessed with family on Christmas and New Years and all having a great time. I really believe holidays are to enjoy your family more than to receive gifts or to have parties. The end of 2019 ended great and looking forward to a wonderful prosperous New Year with family and friends.

We also have bought 100 pieces of glassware off individuals. We are very overstocked with glassware with 1,000’s of beautiful pieces and will have an Auction starting Thursday, Jan. 9th online and ending on Tuesday, Jan. 14th at 8pm with. If you are not a member, go on Facebook and search for Sams Auction, and ask to join our group. If you have problems finding it, send a messenger to Sug N Danny Sams and I’ll send you a link.

We lost a great friend this week, Richard (Rick) Lewis. Rick was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and gave weeks to live, but Rick was a fighter and chose to try experimental cancer treatments and though he suffered dearly and had a heart attack during this time, he fought hard. Rick owned the woodworking shop at Mink Shoals and was one of the most talented carpenters I’ve ever seen. Rick and his son built my hickory kitchen cabinets, my bedroom suit, desk, quilt racks, my wrap around decks on our house, and much more. Please say a prayer for his family especially his son Wade. You will be greatly missed Rick, Rest in Peace.

Until the next issue…Keep Smiling!

Sug Sams

Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the area, and surrounding areas, we have decided to prolong the Printing of The County Times until it is safer to distribute the papers in businesses. We were hoping to be back by now, but the risks are too high. Please stay safe and hopefully we will be back soon.
Thank you, Sug Sams
