Editor’s Note – May 24th, 2019
*I hope everyone is enjoying this Pre-Summer weather as much as we are. We took the Pontoon out for our first official fishing boat trip, and it was great! We caught a lot of small bass and bluegills, nothing to brag about, but it wouldn’t have matter if we hadn’t caught anything because we were out on the boat in the beautiful water enjoying life. It is so peaceful with animals and bird sounds and occasional boat going by. When the world closes in on you it’s the best therapy in the world. Even if you don’t have a boat, get your fishing poles and find a rock beside the river and the flow of the water is so calming that when you get home you can get twice the amount of the work done because you are in such a good mood. Recommend it to everyone! **Tragic struck our town over the past weekend when Jason “Jake” Rollyson lost his life in a vehicle accident. “Jake” was a great athlete from an early age and excelled in sports from Little League through College. He was a loving son, husband, father, friend, and mentor to many. Prayers to all the families his passing has affected, he will be missed deeply. ***Many has probable has seen the turmoil our roads are in here in Clendenin. This, by far has been the worse our town has looked since directly after the flood. The bad roads, high grasses, structures badly in need of repairs, and trash strewn over the entire town. It’s sad when a Mayor makes promises and gives up on the town halfway through her term. The good part is the election is only a few weeks away and hopefully we can get some pride back into our town. In my opinion this will go down in town’s history as the worst administration the town has ever seen. Thank goodness elections are every two years when we get someone like that in office, we can get someone with experience in to get the town back on its feet. ****We are taking the entire summer off from the auction so we can do a lot of traveling and camping. We will still be doing the paper (The Country Times) as normal. Our Auction will resume as normal in the fall. Until the next issue…Keep Smiling!
