Editor’s Note May 5th, 2018

Clendenin, WV News - The Country Times - The Sunshine Paper Clendenin - Newspaper Clendenin, WVHello Readers,

*Danny and I snuck away for a camping/fishing trip to catch our breath for a few days and it was awesome. We needed at least two more weeks. We had fun and got to get our fishing lines wet for the first time this year. Even though Danny tried his best to beat me unfairly, I still won. Danny “accidently” shut my fishing pole in the door of the car and broke the tip off…of course it was an accident…hmmmm. But, of course my fishing skills out-fished him to win by one fishy, that was the total for both of us. The fish wasn’t biting at all, except for the one I got by my great fishing ability…he, he, he. Danny made up for it though, he got me a new rod and reel (a Zebco Bullet, I’ve been wanting) for an early Mother’s Day present. So glad he broke my rod, I ended up with a rod and reel, Love him to the moon and back! **The primary Election is over and the now its onto the General election in November. There were some surprises, but there were some good ones that will run in the General…Good-Luck to them all. ***This Sunday is Mother’s Day and many mothers will be honored. Some, like me, can only honor our mothers in Heaven. If you are lucky to still have your mother to celebrate with, please make it a point to spend time with her no matter what it takes to do it. Every Mother’s Day I made it a point to spend time with my mom. The last Mother’s Day she spent on earth I had her a cookout and I’ll remember that day forever. Some can’t say the same. I know many children look back and wish they could do things differently after their mother is gone, THERE ARE NO “DOOVERS”, so make sure you tell your mother everyday that you love her and visit her on this Special Day to honor her. Gifts are nice but, your presence is what means the most to them. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers on earth and in heaven.
Until the next issue…Keep smiling.

Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the area, and surrounding areas, we have decided to prolong the Printing of The County Times until it is safer to distribute the papers in businesses. We were hoping to be back by now, but the risks are too high. Please stay safe and hopefully we will be back soon.
Thank you, Sug Sams
