The Sunshine Paper - Clendenin, WV News - Newspaper Clendenin Online - Online Newspaper

Hello Readers,

*With the Holidays around the corner everyone needs to remember there are some that won’t be as fortunate as others and if all will give just a little it can mean a big difference in someone’s life. Thanksgiving means Give “Thanks” and “Give”! **Sams Auction will be cutting this week Online Facebook Auction Short due to observing Thanksgiving. We will close Auction Monday, 19th @ 9pm, pick up times will be; Tuesday-2-7, Wednesday-2-6. ***I recently saw an article where the Mayor of Clendenin is blaming the former administration of not using the proper protocol obtaining Money for road and other repairs due to the 2016 flood.

Okay…It’s kind of funny that the money is in the Town’s Bank account before the present administration took over and the contractors were supposed start the repairs right after the current mayor took over, but the repairs kept getting waylaid. Even more funny is the former administration had a FEMA representative help jointly fill out the paperwork to obtain the money, had it approved by FEMA. They did exactly what FEMA told them to do. The Current Mayor is blaming the former administration, ironically the council that oversaw the FEMA Protocol and paperwork is also the only council that remains on the current administration.

How can you blame former, when it’s the current??? Is this the current Mayor “Blowing Smoke” to cover why she hasn’t fixed the road-slides and put the town in jeopardy of a major lawsuit? Instead of “Nit- Picking” the FEMA reports, fight to have our work down. If she spent as much time in getting the work done instead of finding something wrong, the work would’ve been done. 7-months left until we can have a new/old administration who cares about our town get it back on its feet.

Until the next issue…Keep smiling! Sug Sams

Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the area, and surrounding areas, we have decided to prolong the Printing of The County Times until it is safer to distribute the papers in businesses. We were hoping to be back by now, but the risks are too high. Please stay safe and hopefully we will be back soon.
Thank you, Sug Sams
