*I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and all the hunters enjoyed the 2018 Gun Hunting season. Danny enjoyed the wildlife surrounding him while he was hunting. Danny’s season didn’t turn out the way he hoped. On Wednesday he stepped in a cow’s track and tore his Achilles tendon. We are still waiting for the MRI to see the extent of the damage. Yep…I bet 99% reading this is saying he needs to be in a bubble. Danny is in need of a size 13 “right only” muck boot after having to cut his off… hmmm…told him we would cut the other muck boot off and he could have “Anklet Muck Boots”…he, he, he! If we keep this up, they are going to name the X-Ray room after us at Med-Express since we probably have paid for all the equipment in it by all our visits…Life goes on at the Sams accident prone house!
**I am going to rant on a pet peeve of mine and if it steps on toes or you think this might be about you then in my opinion you need to change your ways. I guess this has been going on long before the flood, but I’m noticing it more and more. The problem is “Pat me on the back syndrome!” I’ve always been a firm believer if you do something good, it’s because your heart wants to do it to help someone in need, not because you want people to praise you and pat you on the back. I, myself actually get embarrassed when someone tries to “Pat me on the back” because it takes the reason why I did it away. I do it because I want to help, not because I need recognition. I got ridiculed and lies of speculation made against me for not putting someone’s name in my paper last week because he wasn’t recognized in the announcement of a free Turkey dinner as one of the sponsors.
He publicly Assumed the reasons why I didn’t. I defended myself then and will do it again, I was NOT given his name as a sponsor, I was NOT gave a flyer with the info, I WAS gave the important information of the Place, Time, and Date for the FREE dinner which it got the word out and if it was done for the right reasons in my opinion that is ALL that should of matter. I found out about it the day before I was going to print and got the basic info to get it in the paper and moved things around to get the information on my front page. Instead of this egotistical man in my opinion being grateful the word got out, he was mad because HIS name and business wasn’t mentioned!
Until he made a big Hoop-A-La out of it, I didn’t know he was even involved. What struck me even funnier was the banner was placed over the bridge WITHOUT his name on it, but that was okay and he didn’t jump anyone over that as far as I know!?!? In my opinion it was another one of his tactics to try to make me look bad, but all it did was make him look like an egotistical jealous person that needed his name in the spotlight and he threw a tantrum because it wasn’t. My opinion…If you do something good for the right reason you don’t need to be praised, the deed itself is your praise! Rant over!
Until the next issue…Keep Smiling! Sug Sams
