When asked about the losses he states he used those to learn and prepare for the next match. Ben states he loves the competition with wrestling because it is more intense. He made his favorite wrestling memory this past weekend at the WV State Wrestling Tournament where he became state champ in the 160-pound division.

When Ben has free time, he enjoys going fishing and spending time with his family and friends. When asked about his high school career, Ben stated he had a great freshman year because school did not start until the afternoon. This was after the 2016 flood where Herbert Hoover High School was destroyed, and students had to share the middle school. He says life in the portables is difficult and cold during the winter but all in all, it was a great experience with his friends, and he would not change it. His advice to future wrestlers: “Enjoy the moment and practice a lot” Ben plans to attend Glenville State in the fall and play football.
