Man in Mid-Sixties Caught on Camera with Rotten Eggs Being Thrown out of his Truck

On March 2, 2018 around 1:30pm at Sams Auction it was caught and recorded on camera a man in his mid-sixties driving by and someone on the passenger side opening the door and throwing out a carton of rotten eggs, carton, and all. Last summer this same individual threw a bucket of eggs, bucket, and all onto our parking pad on the other side of the building. There was witnesses last summer that saw the elderly man in his mid-sixties throw them, but we decided to be the bigger person and turn the other cheek.

It took gallons of bleach and cleaners to get the smell to fade last summer, and last week thank goodness it was cold, and we caught it within a half hour of him throwing them and had it cleaned up faster. But, this man has been acting erratically lately; blowing his truck horn, revving up his engines when he goes past our business or house, allegedly assaulting a family member, and more. We called 911 to report this latest incident, the Clendenin Police came saw the evidence of eggs, carton, and the video of him not only in the act, but on the second camera on other side of building going up Pleasant street.

They informed Danny they’d be back to finish the report. I know throwing rotten eggs isn’t a major crime, life threatening, or on top of their list, it’s only an immature act of a man in his mid-sixties, but it’s aggravating to be harassed or should I say Bullied, on a weekly basis from a man of that age. We have never heard back from the officers, even though Danny asked an officer he saw going into Town Hall a few days later about what was being done, and that officer said he’d have someone to contact us.

I know they might have other matters that need attended to, but it would be nice to know something. If nothing else there was enough evidence to have the elderly man for littering and maybe that would make him think twice before harassing us again. There was other “egg throwing” incidents reported a few days before this above the Elem. School, and it makes you wonder could he have done this also? We went through proper protocol of; calling 911, filed a proper complaint, and set back and let the officers do their jobs. With his erratic behavior lately, he has a problem and needs help in my opinion.

Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the area, and surrounding areas, we have decided to prolong the Printing of The County Times until it is safer to distribute the papers in businesses. We were hoping to be back by now, but the risks are too high. Please stay safe and hopefully we will be back soon.
Thank you, Sug Sams
