USDA Rural Development Program Opportunities Meeting Held in Clendenin
With over 20 area residents/ business owners in attendance, an USDA Rural Development Program Opportunities Meeting was held in Clendenin hosted by USDA State Director of Rural Development Kris Wanner and House of Delegates member, Dean Jeffries in hopes to bring help and answers to ones in need for housing, business, and Utilities programs. Kris Wanner answered numerous questions of concerns on water, electric, housing, business opportunities, and many more concerns. Kris Wanner was very informative and gave hope to many residents and business owners that had questions. Area resident, Clifford Casto of Leatherwood, had concerns for over 300 residents that were in desperate need of city water and updated electric service. In the Leatherwood area the power has been off for 42 times in the last year!!! This is unacceptable. Kris took all the information and assured the resident he would do what was possible to remedy the situation. Delegate Jeffries is responsible organizing the meeting. Jeffries replaced the vacant seat of Speaker of the House Tim Armstead. Jeffries is up for up re-election on Nov. 6th.
